Duckling

I spotted this little duckling on the local duck pond he was with another identical duckling, there were plenty of adult black ducks swimming around but the ducklings kept their distance from them, I have no idea what these could be so if anyone has any ideas I would love to know, I will be checking up on them in a day or two to make sure they are still there...
