Mint moth

Pyrausta aurata

My charts identify this as a Mint moth and I will leave it to my betters to correct me if wrong.
The clincher was the fact that it is often found on or near mint or marjoram and this one was about one metre from my mint patch and resting on a leaf of Golden marjoram, Origanum vulgare 'Aureum'.

Perfect supporting material.

I particularly like how the edges of the wings are echoed by the edges of the leaves.

If I can load the Extra, it is yet another Duel in the Sun between a spider and its intended prey.

This time I think a woodlouse eating spider, Dysdera crocata.

The woodlouse moved on unharmed after posing for the photograph.
Unlike yesterday's gruesome outcome.
