Too late

We got up rather late and then I had a productive day at work, so by 7 pm I still hadn't taken a single photo. Despite threatening clouds, it was still warm, so we went down to the garden for a barbie. While the charcoal heated up, I wandered around taking photos of whatever was available, but the light was far from ideal. So here is the brightest feature in the garden, a massive patch of hypericum. As I may have mentioned before, our garden is populated exclusively by plants that look after themselves, and the hypericum certainly seems to like it here.

After dinner we lounged on our new sun loungers. Our garden will never feature in Homes and Gardens, but it's a special place -- remote and secluded, surrounded by thick vegetation, you can spend hours in this little haven listening to the birds and watching clouds pass by overhead. When the light grew dimmer we packed up and went home, and now we are getting the odd rumble of thunder; storms are predicted for the weekend.
