Gillipaw's Journal

Summer in Leven Street

We reached the dizzy heights of 21C in Glasgow this afternoon, and I enjoyed a walk around The Shields.

This colourful bed in Leven Street caught my eye, as there was an immediate connection with my maternal grandmother.  Her garden was full of Mesembryanthemums in summer, and we usually spent our long holidays there, beside the sea.

It is interesting how a small sighting can bring back a host of memories.
