Clematis

The first flower on my clematis is blooming, its rained on and off most of the day, my first one back in work after the Jubilee. Could of happily stayed in bed this morning.

The slugs have been having a right feast and have chomped their way through a couple of the sunflowers I've planted, how do I control them. I know they don't like beer or pellets, unfortunatly my animals do so I don't use either

Any suggestions welcome
