Little baby Jesus

Sculpture made by monks on the 15th century. In exhibition of the Musee Cluny in Paris where I could spend a great afternoon waiting for the next flight.
This monk had learned that babies have these two big folds in the thighs and a little belly but he must have rarely seen a baby. He created the perfect little man, look at the muscular lower legs and the happy face of a co-brother:-)
Hard to photograph because the little statue was in a glass case and surrounded by visitors.
