West Country Leisure

West Country leisure is less of a pleasure
when dark clouds are pouring with rain.
Comes the sun (for good measure: cross fingers!) we'll treasure
the fun of a glass of Champagne.

This is written in the optimistic hope that the weather will be sunny three weeks tomorrow! It's also what you might call 'rhyme-led' given that, AFAIK, it uses the only English words available to rhyme with leisure!  Took the photo through our rainy car window on the car ferry crossing the Dart.

We had to do a big food shop and we needed petrol so we headed out to Torquay. Unfortunately, as we'd had to wait in for our annual boiler service, and our man was very late, we managed to hit 'school out time'. That, and roadworks, turned what should have been a quick sortie into a lengthy outing. (Happily, he's a very trustworthy chap, so we were able to leave him a front door key to put through the letterbox when he'd done, or we'd have been later still.)

He considerately left his empty coffee mug by the kitchen sink. Oh dear! That means he's seen the tea-stained colour of our dishcloth. Oh, well. He might not want a cuppa next year! ;-)
