2012 challenge - Line

This was a watercolour exercise for hand-eye co-ordination that I learned from Vinita Pappas during her "Loosen Up" OL workshop.

You make series of dots about 1.5 cm (.5 in) apart. It doesn't have to be exact, along the top, bottom, and the two sides of your watercolour paper.

Step One:
Mix an amount of juicy watercolor. Start at the TOP LEFT dot with your brush and paint a vertical line down to the BOTTOM LEFT dot - WITHOUT LOOKING DOWN !! Keep your eye on the top dot only and trust your arm to do the movement. You may place your non-dominant hand index finger on the receiving dot to help "feel" the movement, but DON'T LOOK.
Continue painting vertical lines across the paper TOP to BOTTOM going LEFT to RIGHT until finished.

Step Two:
Mix up more juicy colour and paint horizontal lines LEFT to RIGHT, going TOP to BOTTOM.

Step Three: REVERSE!
Mix more juicy colour and paint vertical lines BOTTOM to TOP, going RIGHT to LEFT.

Step Four: MORE REVERSE!
Mix. Paint horizontal lines RIGHT to LEFT going BOTTOM to TOP.

I used more than the two colors suggested for this exercise, but I like the finished result. This was not as easy to do as I thought.
