WAX EYE

Still lots of snow around, LOTS of snow, power still on, so all good there. The thaw is happening, but slowly and only in exposed places - there is a mild nor west wind, but the sky is cloud and overcast, no beautiful blue sky and sunshine like yesterday.

Took lots of lovely snow photos, including some with the gorgeous red sunrise this morning, and couldn't decide which to blip.

Soooo a little later on, I snuck outside to the apple tree, where I have been watching the little silver eyes or wax eyes eating on of the last big apples on the tree - they have been hollowing it out and they can now almost fit inside it to eat.

I sneaked quietly in the snow around to the fence to get a good angle on the apple, I stood still leaning against a fence post, waiting for the little birds to settle down again and start eating... a wax eye landed in the lip of the apple, up goes the camera, and blow me down meow purrrp.. and Couga lands on the fence post right beside me for a stroke and cuddle! Gone are the little birds in a flash, just managed to catch this fellow before he too took off. Cat's don't make good bird photo taking accessories! lol
