Tripod Practice: Broken Branch

I went for a hike today intending to get some telephoto shots of soaring birds. But once I realized that I wasn't very handy with the tripod and all of the birds were in the hot sun I ended up just swimming in the reservoir and taking a nap in the shady sand.

This is one of the pictures I snapped just for practice - the extra zoom makes the camera kind of touchy.
