It's a Bug's Life

I have spent a very long time trying to identify both the fly and the spider.  The latter might be a black and yellow argiope as I think its legs are too thin to be a wasp spider, but I'm not convinced.  Part of the 'fun' of blip for me is learning about new things, so not being able to identify them has irritated me.  Feeling totally frustrated!
