The Ice Cream Seller

It is the Village Festival this week, and today (being Sunday) was one of the bigger days.  We had bands playing, morris dancers, Elizabethan dancers in costume, a brass band and stalls selling plants, art work and food of various sorts.

There were any number of photo opportunities.  I failed to get to the ring side early enough for the dog competition (with prizes for the best 6 legs and the best eyes it looked as though the judges were at least as interested in the owners as their pets).  I did think about the rare and vintage car competition but in the end I couldn't resist the interaction above.

The ice cream stand was doing a roaring trade. Not because of the weather, but rather, the quality of the ice cream.  I was particularly drawn to the ice cream vendor's rather fetching head gear.  On enquiring I understand that she had made it herself.  She frequently gets requests from people who would like her to make them one just like it, which she politely refuses.  Well, that would rather ruin the exclusivity wouldn't it!

The extra is a shot of two of the Elizabethan dancers in their costume.  All the dancers looked very much like extras from a BBC costume drama.  However, the costumes are not hired.  I gather that they too go to all the trouble of making their own costumes.
