Yellow rattle

Today was the annual summer event in Little Meadow in the village. We went along to help out, and the event went well though attendance was even less than last year. I did however take some pictures of some of the wildflowers in the meadow - this one is yellow rattle (Rhinanthus minor) is a hemi-parastitic plant often grown to control the vigour of grasses and hence improve overall meadow biodiversity.

In the afternoon friends of my better half from a shared previous work came up for tea and a chat. After they left I did some ironing, tedious but essential before dinner.
