Poppies at First Light

Today was forecast to be the only day of the week when it would be more or less sunny all day. I'd spotted these poppies in a field at Nanpantan, designated for building development - which was why there had been no cultivation this year.

I got up just before 4 am thinking I'd catch the dawn over the field, but would you know, a blanket of cloud stretched from east to west.

Len, Basil and I returned in the evening hoping to get a nice sunset, but the cloud had returned.

So this is a not very exciting photo of poppies at first light.

It's not easy taking satisfactory photos of poppies. So much nicer to stand and stare at them.
