West End Flax MIll

Went for a walk around Thruscross reservoir today. It says it is 4.5 miles, at times it felt more though we all enjoyed it. shame about the weather, though we didn't get too wet. Sat having the picnic though it felt quite chilly, but having brewed up with the Kelly kettle (having collected pine needles and cones all the way round for fuel) we soon warmed through. Sad to think an entire village was swallowed up under here in the early 1960's. When water levels drop there the old bridge is still visible but most buildings were demolished prior to the flooding.

well worth a walk around but hope if you do , it is a warmer day for you. Hard to believe it is only a week till the longest day.
