Backwards take off

The bees are finally back in the garden - hardly seen one so far this year, but it was warm enough to entice them. This chap was so covered in pollen I'm surprised he could still fly - it's a good job he doesn't suffer from hayfever! He had just finished on this bloom and was just taking off - reversing out of the flower. Look closely and you'll notice he isn't in contact with the flower at all.
