Day out to Dubai

There is a world of difference between Abu Dhabi and Dubai (not just the 150km). Today we spent most of the day in Dubai, feeling a bit like country camel jockeys.

Dubai to me is a bit like Miami, all brash and modern, whereas Abu Dhabi is more conservative, more 'local'.

We went to the Marina to collect a PS3 from one of my colleagues for Calum, as he doesn't use it, and thought it might be better used by Calum. Then we went to Karama to stock up on requests from UK relatives (more of that tomorrow), finally going to Dubai Mall to get some new games for the PS3.

We sat outside for some food. As you can see from left to right, Calum was more interested in taking the middle photo rather than watching the dancing fountains. However after food we saw the next show.
