Hot pot

Hot pot is a Chinese traditional social event cum dining experience. You get a big pan of boiling broth which in this case was split into a spicy and non spicy half. You then order meats and veg and throw it in. You can make your own dipping sauce by mixing and matching various spices into a bowl (mine consisted of raw garlic, lots of chillies and oil!) This hot pot restaurant opened recently opposite school so we went with some friends and it was amazing. I would say probably the nicest food I've had in China mainly due to the nice heat from the chillies. I've suffered for it today though!
