Roses are Red

Campanulas are (usually) blue.

Campanula thyrsoides, a plant of mountain meadows, is an exception being a creamy yellow. Monocarpic, it flowers, sets seed and dies. Raised from seed they take two or three years to bloom, eventually producing a spike of densely packed flowers up to eighteen inches high. This one is in the garden of friends who kindly provide us with an overnight stop on our way to Wales.
