Well I never!!

Sitting in the garden this morning, I saw and heard what I thought was the most enormous bee flying by. Once the 'bee' had landed in the Clematis, I was able to get a closer look and I saw that it was actually two bees, a Queen Bee mating with a Drone! They were certainly very busy!!

After watching this video I learned that the male bee dies shortly after mating. So a happy ending for the female, but not so much for the male! It always surprises me what you can experience in the natural world if you just take the time to sit and listen and observe...
