Help Needed....

Mrs MD, myself and Polly dog had a walk around Baitings Reservoir (nr. Ripponden) today.  There was a good steady drizzle when we started off but Polly dog didn't care, she was straight into the water :-)  then both Polly and the sun came out and we had a lovely walk in clean sunshine.
Mrs MD (aka BezziePet) took the best scenic blip and I was left looking around for mine.
I have seen these 'flowers' on the fir trees before and think they look rather nice and quite decorative - but I am well out of my depth.  Can any fellow blipper help with the identification? :-)
