Twisting by the Pool

I’ve walked up to the Pools of Dee at top of the the Lairig Ghru several times this year, but I suspect it won’t get much hotter than it was today.  There is still a little bit of snow around, but I did succeed in having a picnic there today.

The heat (seems bad to be complaining about it) made the walk back feel pretty attritional, but I am pleased to have reached the half-way point in my 12 Lairig Ghru Walks project.

Less bird life around than I saw last time, but still always delightful to hear the ‘gargle’ of the grouse.
