Kerrera

Our walking club outing today took us up to Oban, a longer journey than usual but through lovely scenery.  We were heading for Kerrera, a small island off the coast of Oban.  The ferryman used his two ferries to get us across, both just small boats, it is only a five minute crossing from the mainland.

Once on the island, we walked a seven mile circular walk, taking in the ruins of Gylan Castle, the tea garden which is very near to the castle, and walking from there up to Ardmore and Torbhain Mor, and eventually coming back around to the jetty once more and the ferry back to the mainland.

Once back we had an hour in Oban to have a meal or whatever, and then the journey home.

And we were lucky with the weather; although quite dull at times, and sun came out occasionally and we had no rain.

What a great day out we had.

I couldn't choose a picture, so did a collage.
