Lupins in 'Nicer Newburgh'

Every other year I attend an international conference in Aberdeen. It has become the tradition for me and Mr hazelh to travel up to Newburgh-on-Ythan (just north of the city) the weekend before the conference.  After lunch today we packed the car and set off north for a weekend of fun with friends.

We stay with V and C, both of whom work at the University of Aberdeen. V is very like me and we are often mistaken for sisters. If you check this blip of V on the Twister mat, you'll see why. She also has a mad academic job just like mine.

Before dinner this evening we walked along the estuary of the River Ythan. Our route took us past several beds of fabulous lupins planted out by the 'Nicer Newburgh' committee.

Exercise today: short walk.
