Little Baddow Chapel

Great time with great people of Little Baddow Chapel this morning.

Little Baddow Chapel has been a worshipping community for over 350 years and has grown from a tradition that "encourages free thought and discernment as we grapple together over how we are called by God to be a community each day."

Their roots are grounded in the Great Ejectment of 1662, when nonconformist ministers refused to only conduct worship by the Book of Common Prayer (1662). There's a board in the church with names of past ministers with the word "Ejected" next to them, meaning the CofE had kicked them out. So it's poignant that I, an adviser for the CofE, should lead their worship this morning. However, having mongrel Christian roots helps.

Today, there was an amazing display of birds nests (see extra blip) found in their church yard, including ...
Dunnock
Blackbird
Gold crest
Goldfinch
Robin
Spotted Flycatcher
Linnet
Bullfinch
White throat
Wren
Blackcap
Pied Wagtail
Chaffinch
Greenfinch
Blue Tit
Great Tit
..... all in one churchyard.
Isn't it amazing what you see, if you really, really look?
