Pirbright Scarecrow Festival

A member of the photography group suggested that we head for this festival.  It wasn't the sunniest of days but the odd sharp shower wasn't enough to dampen spirits, even if the exhibits did get a little wet. There must have been a hundred scarecrows dotted around  Pirbright's village green and in the church.  Each and everyone was made with genial thought and skill. Each year there is a theme and this year's was nursery rhymes, myths and legends. There were some smaller exhibits and others were truly huge all handmade by local schools, clubs, businesses and visitors who wished to join in.

As well as the scarecrows there was a typical village fair with stalls, pony rides and bouncy castle.  The traditional games of tug of war and the dog with the waggiest tail were of course there to join in and the barbeque churned out hundreds of burgers and sausages.

What a brilliant day!
