Short Tucano

Stopped to catch a shot of a Cargolux 747 at lunch time.  Watched it depart and got ready to head back to the office when this pair of Short Tucano T.1 training planes came over in formation.
 
The Short Tucano is operated by No 1 Flight Training School at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.  RAF student pilots fly around 130 hours on these fast turbo props before progressing to the Hawk T1 at RAF Valley.  The Tucano replaced the ageing Jet Provost in this role and was found to be 70% cheaper to operate.
