Eilean Donan Castle

Catching the late ferry from Lewis to Skye was a problem since it was 11 pm before I got to the Kyle of Lochalsh, too late to find a hotel and too late to pitch a tent, so I pressed on, stopping to take this shot of Eilean Donan Castle on the shortest night of the year. It started raining so somewhere on Rannoch Moor I pulled in to a lay-by and hunkered down for a few hours sleep in the car, then on to Liverpool. A lot of mileage this past week.
