iDocQ 2015

Each year the information science students based in Scotland run a doctoral colloquium called iDocQ. This year it took place at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

I was asked to run a session at this event on preparing for the PhD viva. My session went well: I managed to allay a few fears evident amongst the group, and the students left the room feeling a bit more confident about defending their work on the big day itself.

Most of the students gave a short presentation on their PhD work during the day. I was really pleased that the winner of the best presentation prize was one of the students that I supervise.

Exercise today: none
