The sun!

I went for a peak through the telescopes set up for an astronomy workshop at school today! The special filters enabled us to look directly at the sun and it was amazing to see the sun spots and solar flares! Each solar flare was bigger than Earth!

Philip and I were given a telescope by Mum and Dad and Philip was working out the equipment for attaching his camera to the telescope when he was ill - unfortunately he did not fully get this set up before he was too ill to enjoy it. I still use the telescope from the house to look at the details of Mont Blanc and the changing seasons.

A different flare this evening with a flaming Creme Brûlée! A favourite dessert of mine and Philips.
