Tollesbury Saltings Natural Marina (Backblip)

Long journey down to Essex yesterday with many queues and hold ups but finally we arrived in Spring Lane, Hatfield Peveral and were made most welcome by the owners of a very small and secluded caravan site, only 5 caravans on the field.  Only one problem - there's no wifi, but I hadn't taken one photo and by the time we had got the caravan parked up, legs down and electricity hooked up we were ready to drop.

But today is another day and the weather was beautiful.  I made a tortilla for breakfast and we sat outside enjoying the sunshine and birdsong etc, after which we set off to pootle about on the Blackwater Estuary.  We stopped at Tollesbury and wandered round the Natural Marina and then our walk took us on to the SSSI Tollesbury Wick Marshes where we saw plenty of Oyster Catchers, some Redshanks, Cormorants and little Egrets,  a young Thrush and a few Speckled Wood Butterflies (in extra photos).

All in all a lovely restful day.
