Riding The Rapids !

Well not quite but it felt like it .One minute I was riding along the towpath of the Rochdale Canal and the next I was riding through water so deep it came way up the wheels . Was I glad to finally come to the  end .The reason is blockage of lock gates , due to all sorts of rubbish simply thrown into the canal .Not nice to look at , sail through or ride a bike through .Those walking had to turn back . Add to this the structure of the banking etc is being destroyed .A) When I wonder will people learn to take their trash home with them? B) When will it be illegal for businesses to leave trash in flimsy plastic bags on the street . Animals and people rip these open C) When will the Waterways take an interest . They certainly charge  narrow boat owners enough .
