Luing Cattle

I got up at 6.30 this morning and was out of the house by 6.45 am. It was a bright morning and I wanted to go back to where I had been for yesterday's blip at Eycott Hill.

I wanted to get the cattle in the sunshine amongst the buttercups. This breed of very hardy cattle were originally bred on the Isle of Luing in Scotland and have just been introduced to this farm earlier this year as in-calf heifers. Well, as you can see, some of the heifers have had their calves.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust, who own this nature reserve have combined forces with Newton Rigg, our local Agricultural College for this project, As a member of this trust I'll be venturing onto the reserve for future blips.
