No Bovver For a Hover

This is the giant double poppy I photographed from underneath yesterday. Most double blooms defy the efforts of insects to get at their nectar - I watched a few bees hover around it and give up.

However, this hoverfly persisted and did manage to push its way down through the mass of petals to win the nectar prize.
