Lyme Regis

Somewhat the worse for wear after last night's excessive drinking we had a nice morning with Emma, James, Zoe and Belle and after they left we drove to Lyme Regis, we've never been there before, it is really pretty and unspoiled, hilly with breath taking views. After crab baguettes on the beach we went to the museum, a quirky building with a spiral staircase and interesting artifacts well laid out, the kids really liked it.
Then we found a fishing boat to take us out for an hour, the water was so choppy and I was actually quite scared on the way out, Harry and Douglas looked after us however and set up fishing lines for the boys to try and catch mackerel but nobody did....
Then we walked along the beach and were all amazed and enchanted by the amonite fossils which are literally everywhere!!
It was really exciting finding them and they were all so different.
We spent a long time down there and we all found fossils to take home.
It was quite otherworldly.
Back at the house the boys are playing hide and seek and we are drinking Rioja ;-)
