Saint Jean Baptiste Day

Saint Jean Baptiste Day is a holiday in Quebec. The celebrations begin the evening before the big day and there are parades and festivals on the day. Justin and I rode our bikes to the parade, which was in the Plateau. The Parti Quebecois and Bloc were near the end and were waving flags and singing. I enjoyed seeing Justin Trudeau glad handing right in front of this group (extra photo).

Following the parade, we rode up the steep side of Mont Royal were we enjoyed a little rest and a view of the city at the lookout point. On the way down we rode around the lake and passed quite a few large groups of picnickers. After that we went to the party in the park in our neighbourhood. We had a lot of fun.
