Fred & Andy

The descent

For some reason we didn't sleep well. Andy was fidgety and we are at different ends of the tent from where we started last night. Andy is particularly groggy this morning so we end up leaving a little late with Surya waiting patiently. Dan feels much better today thank goodness and so we all finally set off back the way we came on day one. The first part is steeply downhill and it tests our sore legs a little but it evens out and we cheer up as we go on. A quick lunch stop and we're on the home straight. It takes about five hours in total. Andy's trusty trail shoes have lost all their grip so he does part of it barefoot because it's slippy in places. We're picked up and taken back to Full's place where Dan buys us a beer to say thanks for yesterday then we're off again to Bangsal to catch our boat to Gili Air.

After saying see ya to Dan we're suddenly knackered but the boat doesn't take long and soon we're on the beautiful island of Gili Air. We wander westwards and find somewhere nice to stay. After a shower we settle in for the sunset before dinner.

Overall we are happy with the company we chose for the trek but the reviews weren't kidding when they said it was hard ... boy are we gonna ache tomorrow ...
