That's Heads Up For Fire.

It's a local community project aimed at getting street coordinators trained to communicate and organise people in times of emergency in the local area.

Originally planned for bushfires, it is clear it could also be useful during storms or other unfortunate events.

It can be as simple as getting to know know neighbours and who, especially frail and elderly or those with young children, might need assistance in a crisis.

An important feature is having access to correct and up to date details of the situation so it can be communicated effectively, often merely to allay panic.

We attended the first meeting for our street today and have volunteered to be facilitators.
