A bird at last

Knottman's Dordogne Blips have had an absence of birds. Of course we have seen raptors high in the blue and heard Nightingales through our bedroom window. But for photographs nothing has been captured.

But now on the first stage of our journey home we stopped for our sandwiches at the Maison Du Parc in La Brenne, some 200 miles north of the Dordogne. We had time for a short walk and, oh joy, here was a bird we had never seen before. And it was being much more co-operative than most birds.
We believe it is a Night Heron. Very rarely seen in Britain.
Finding it was a great delight.
