Puffin Day

Today we went on the look out for Puffin's. On searching we found many, I was quite excited by the swimming Puffins. This little fella was happily on the rock face, looking like he was surveying his descent.

I also learnt lots of Puffin facts;

They are 20 cms tall
They live on average to 20 years, although the oldest is 42
They can hold 83 sea eels in their mouth (not sure how this was adjudicated) 
To fly they flap their wings 400 times a minute
They can dive 200fts under water
They are in the Auk family with Guillemots and Razorbills
They like swimming
