Assembly Still Life

General Assembly is a demanding mix of feelings. Good to see friends and acquaintances,  sad that some people seem so far outside what one hopes for (suggesting that equal marriage is tearing up the Bible) and frustration at what really do seem pointless delays in matters of pastoral urgency, based on the chimera of being 'safe' legally. But that's the way it goes with Assembly. It isn't a conversation, because you realise what you should have said when your one chance to speak is gone. Is this discernment? At least the attempt is made. But prudence is not a biblical virtue. That would be like cleanliness taking priority over godliness.
