Quarter final, England vs Canada at BC Place. Just over 54,000 in attendance. Although there were lots of England supporters to be seen, it was understandably an overwhelmingly partisan crowd for Canada. England squeaked out a 2-1 victory and at the end of the game, did a lap of appreciation to all  fans carrying this banner. A nice touch!
Previously, we'd visited Fox Sports' most impressive TV set at Jack Poole plaza with stunning views of the bay and the north shore mountain as a backdrop. If that doesn't spark viewers desire to come to Vancouver, nothing will.
Then on to the official FIFA fan zone at Larwill Park, just a couple of hundred meters from the stadium. The place was filling up rapidly even 4 hours before kick off.
The lad had to be at the stadium 3 hours before kick off to make sure he got his good seat on the shooters' benches even though he was #1 in the list after the guys from Getty and the other official agencies.
With nothing else planned for a few hours, the boss and I retreated to the security of the Back 40 for a "few" medicinal pints of Guinness.
I've tried to upload a few extra images, hope it works.

Ah well. Until tomorrow....
