Stalking!

This is Pip having just spied one of many of the blooming Rabbits! There are now so many she often just ignores them as I think she can't decide which one to go for!! Despite Pip and Lulas very best efforts the population continues to rise. Groan!  Thank you for the suggestions as to what to do with the said  dearly departed bunnies!  Curry seems to be a good option.

Many years ago just after the war when my parents were farming on Exmoor there was a massive expolsion in the rabbit population. My father had a rule that after he had finished milking he always made sure he shot at least 10 rabbits before going back to the house!. He said that often they were queueing to get down the holes!! They were quite in demand as they were a good scource of meat when rationing was still in place.

A friend of my mothers was visiting them at the farm and she offered her a couple of rabbits. The friend was delighted with the bunnies and went off with a smile on her face.  A few weeks later Mum met her in the local town and asked her how the rabbits had been. Lovely, was the answer. She then added, but it had taken simply ages to pluck them......

Enough of rabbits for today!

This afternoon both myself and Mr Tbay were at a Cream Tea Party at the YFC headquaters which was very pleasant. After some very yummy home made cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam , we then cleared up and I then had a training session with my Junior Readers. They are doing very well but now is the time I start to really push them! The National Final in which they are in is 6 days away !

Farming - Nil today!
