Hanging on

Lazarattus. The rat traps caught two VERY young rats the other night (only about 2.5 - 3 inches long). Looked too young to be away from the mother, and seemed, both of them, on the verge of death. Nowhere near out of the woods, but there's now a little fight in them after giving them food and milk and water over the last 36 hours (as the death grip to hang from the glove testifies, and I was using the glove because without realising they'd come to, one of them was hanging off my finger earlier). The thing is, I set humane traps because I didn't want to kill them, and felt guilty that these two might die. Hoping to get them strong enough for secret countryside release.

Having made them more comfy in their lodgings I just went out to check, and the straw from the corner has been dragged through most of the box, and the two were cuddled up together, hopefully a good sign.

Has, otherwise, been a spectacularly awful weekend for one reason and another. Barely hanging on.
