Oaklandish Peter

I  was hoping to get a good picture today. the idiot man down the street tried to reverse his truck and trailer in our driveway and took out a swath of rocks, bulbs and dirt. The resulting gash in the border was not picturesque.

We went to help Jim walk Rudy and Blake since Will was not home yet and Dana and Peter went to a baseball game in Oakland yesterday, and spent the night in a hotel so they could go again today. The A's lost both games…Dana and Peter probably won't be picturesque either.

I ran cleaning solution through the washing machine and the coffee maker. The washing machine reminds me to do this every five cycles which is far too often in a drought but now the washing machine is beginning to smell a bit moldy. The coffee machine leaked cleaning solution all over the floor and I wound up mopping the floor. Not only not fun but not an interesting picture either.

OilMan investigated a small wet spot in the middle of a deck and discovered that our resident fox, burrowed under a pile of extra split rails from our fence in a storage space under the deck, and had chewed through the irrigation pipe, which also runs through there, causing it to spurt water up through the deck when the irrigation goes on. If we could ever get a close up of Mr Fox, THAT would be a good picture but he lies low. OilMan elected to cut the irrigation line and go around the outside  of the storage space rather than unload all the split rails and crawl through the half devoured rats and whatever else might reveal itself in there. Not even a picture to contemplate….OilMan also closed the gap that gave Mr. Fox a convenient front door.

I went to the store which is always good for a photo. I spent a lot of money on wonderful local cheeses, heirloom tomatoes, craft beer and some cleaning products that we finally have room for in their own new cupboard in the laundry room/pantry. But I forgot my camera.

Will and his posse got back from their "college tour" and Dana and Peter got back from their trip to Oakland, so we went to there house where Jim barbecued hamburgers. We didn't really hear about the college tour because Will left for a basketball game, but Peter was happy to pose for me in is new Oaklandish t-shirt with a design based on the award winning horse shaped container hoists at the Port of Oakland.
