Was It Really So Long Ago

We comfortably met the challenge laid down by Center Parcs of being out of the villa by 10:00am, by some stroke of miracle. By 9:15 we were supping coffee and juices at Starbucks, awaiting the opening of the Subtropical Swimming Paradise at 10:00.

We enjoyed another 2 hour session, without this time the diversion of the rapids swim, due to 'unforeseen resurfacing works' or some such similar marketeer spun eventuality. Nevertheless, the Tropical Cyclone ride remained as available and exhilarating as ever (recommended for the sturdy of heart and sufficient of height). By the time we were all swum out, Master H has slumbered into the beginnings of a 2 hours snooze, pervading through changing drying and transferring to push chair. We lunched late at the Hucks American diner complete with burgers, onion rings and Apple Macs to entertain the most impatient of children, not to mention a central climbing / soft play area. Kirsty our server benefitted from our employee of the weekend token after which we headed to adventure island for some crazy golf. I think a round at St Andrews might have been only slightly more costly, but that is the way with activities at CP it seems.

We have all enjoyed a fabulous weekend at Elveden Forest, the highlights of which were the Tropical Swimming Paradise, the lack of cars for safer family cycling and the proximity of woodland wildlife. Very relaxing break, recommended if the price is right...
