MonoMonday: LINE

Above the Line...
This is our 'Alpha' male Ruby-throated Hummingbird. He often sits on the stand which holds our feeders and watches, and preens, and chases every other bird away from the delicious nectar that his human servants provide. It has been raining all morning and he seems to be enjoying the showers. This shot catches him spreading his wings and tail to catch those precious raindrops. I didn't think that I'd like him in mono, since you aren't able to discern his bright red throat. But I do! And a big Thank You to JDO for hosting MonoMonday!
