Stag beetle

Found it whilst watering the garden.

When I was little, my parents had fruit trees. Stag beetles like fruit trees. My brother Phil and I used to hit flying stag beetles with our tennis rackets. We played a lot of tennis and we were quite good at meeting the beetles mid-air.

Now, with remorse, I protect every stag beetle I find.
