Watkins Glen.

A few hour's driving today brought us to the southern tip of Seneca Lake, one of the so-called "Finger Lakes" in upstate New York.  Here is the little town of Watkins Glen, know to some for its Grand Prix circuit.  Others of us may be seeking tranquility and pleasant vistas, and maybe the odd glass of wine from vineyards crowding the shores of the lake.  It makes me think a bit of the Rheingau in south western Germany around Mainz and, in fact, Riesling seems to figure dominantly amongst the products of the local wineries.  Also Ice Wine which I'm very interested to try.
