Auchmithie Beach

Murray took us to see the Tay Rail Bridge Disaster Memorials which were erected on both sides of the river on 28 Decembe 2013. This was a 134 years since the disaster which claimed 59 lives and the memorial is for the victims. Murray & Clare were 2 of the people who were part of the committee that were responible for the memorials and they wrote a book about the people who died.
In early afternoon we drove up to Auchmithie Beach to walk along the beach to the cliffs where the Puffins are supposed to be nesting.
I didn't realise that we were going to walk along the beach, otherwise I would have checked what the tides were doing. When we got there the tide was nearly high and still coming in, so it wasn't safe to go around the beach. So, no Puffins once agin. I had been hoping that I would have got a trip out on a boat to see the Puffins on Isle of Mey, but weather unpredictable, so we had decided not to risk booking it.
